Dr. Olinger was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He Graduated from Carroll High school in 1977, from Indiana University (B.A.) in 1981, from Indiana University school of Dentistry (D.D.S.) in 1985, and completed his Pediatric Dental Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (Chief Resident) in 1987. Dr. Olinger is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Following his Residency, Dr. Olinger accepted a commission into the United States Air Force (1987-1992). He was awarded the USAF Achievement Medal (1992) and the Meritorious Service Commendation Medal (1990). During this time, he was an instructor at an Air Force Dental Residency Program and was a Specialty Consultant to the Tactical Air Force Command Surgeon General.
In 1992, Dr. Olinger returned to private practice in Fort Wayne. Since then, he has given many pediatric dental lectures to area dentists. He is very involved with organized dentistry and has served two terms each as a board member to the local dental society and its’ Dental Education Foundation. Dr. Olinger is past director and a current team member of the "Kid's First Clinic" cranio-facial anomalies team. One of only two nationally recognized teams in the state of Indiana.
Dr. Olinger’s family includes his wife, Julie and two daughters, Lara Elise (born in 1991) and Hannah Marie (born in 1993).
Dr. Olinger is pleased to welcome a fellow board certified pediatric dental specialist to the practice this January. Dr. Ludwig looks to provide personalized care to children, teens and those with special health care needs.
As a lifelong Hoosier, Dr. Ludwig completed his undergraduate studies at Notre Dame, his dental training at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, and his pediatric residency at Riley Hospital where he served as chief resident. Dr. Ludwig is a published author in the Journal of the American Dental Association and also serves as a part-time faculty member at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Ludwig enjoys getting to know his patients and families so they can work together to make a positive change in each child’s oral health. In his free time, he enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with his wife and two children.
